Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced that its optoelectronic products division has launched a fully integrated new proximity sensor - VCNL36828P, to improve the efficiency and performance of consumer electronics applications. Vishay Semiconductors VCNL36828P uses a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) to integrate photodiodes, specialized integrated circuits (ASICs), 16 bit ADCs, and intelligent dual I2C slave addresses in a small surface mount package of 2.0 mm x 1.0 mm x 0.5 mm.
