(NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of six new surface mount polymer positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor series, further expanding its overcurrent protection product line. This series of devices is designed specifically for computer, industrial, and consumer applications, aiming to save circuit board space and improve efficiency.


The Vishay PPTC0603E3, PPTC0805E3, PPTC206E3, PPTC210E3, PPTC1812E3, and PPTC2920E3 series can provide resettable overcurrent protection for low-voltage circuits and are suitable for computer USB-C ports; Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications for computer peripherals and communication devices; Industrial tools and consumer equipment and appliances powered by batteries; Industrial automation systems; And home automation heating control system.
 
For these applications, this series of thermistors can provide a sustain current of up to 5.0 A and a fast response time as low as 50 ms, while its resistance as low as 5 mW can reduce voltage drop and improve efficiency. To maximize circuit board space savings, this series of devices offers six compact package sizes ranging from 0603 to 2920, with a height of only 0.3 mm to 2 mm.
 
The PPTC0603E3, PPTC0805E3, PPTC1206E3, PPTC210E3, PPTC1812E3, and PPTC2920E3 series comply with RoHS standards, are halogen-free, and compatible with lead-free (Pb) soldering processes up to 260 ° C. This series of thermistors provides SPICE models and 3D models to support designers during the development process.
