Bourns brand new Multiuse ® PPTC MF-ASML/X series

Bain Bourns, a globally renowned supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announced today that it will expand its Multiuse ® Polymer PTC (PPTC) can restore fuses and introduce higher rated power models - MF-ASML/X series. Bourns ® MF-ASML075/6 has a maximum rating of 0.75 A (Ihold) and is designed to provide developers with more overcurrent/overheating protection options in the ultra compact 0402 package for space limited applications. In addition to higher maintenance current and smaller footprint, the new model also adopts multiple key improvements, including increasing rated voltage (Vmax) and enhancing resistance stability. These enhanced features are specifically designed to meet various applications and are primarily optimized protection solutions for low-voltage DC ports commonly found in consumer products such as wearable devices, toys, and gaming applications.

As a Multiuse ® The latest product in the PPTC recoverable fuse series, the MF-ASML075/6 model, is also based on Bourns' innovative freeXpansion ™ Technology. This technology was developed 14 years ago and can enhance the performance of fuses, with the ability to handle higher currents and voltages, improve their resistance stability, and achieve smaller packaging sizes. To enhance all Multiuses ® PPTC can restore the reliability and lifespan of fuses, including the MF-ASML/X model series, and we use non electroplated nickel immersion gold (ENIG) coating for their SMD terminals. The ENIG coating uses a thin and uniform layer of metal to cover a layer of nickel, which has been proven to have excellent corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity. In contrast, traditional nickel tin (Ni/Sn) coatings may be prone to problems such as whisker like structure, oxidation, and corrosion, which can lead to short circuits, poor soldering, and deterioration of electronic circuits.

Bourns ® The MF-ASML/X model series also uses a unique tungsten carbide (WC) material, which has low resistance and antioxidant ability even in humid environments. In addition, low resistance has significant value as it helps improve power efficiency, while oxidation resistance helps achieve higher levels of quality and reliability.

New Bourns ® Multiuse ® The MF-ASML/X series has been launched and all products comply with RoHS * standards and are halogen-free.

*RoHS Directive 2015/863 dated March 31, 2015 and its attachments.

Bourns products meet the "halogen-free" requirement, provided that (a) the bromine content is less than or equal to 900 ppm, (b) the chlorine content is less than or equal to 900 ppm, and (c) the total bromine and chlorine content is less than or equal to 1500 ppm.
