● Give consideration to connection operability and small size
The traditional FPC connector needs to flip first, then insert the FPC, and finally close the flip to complete the operation, but the flip will fall off due to operation errors. In recent years, board to board FPC connectors are mainly used for internal connection of small devices with large production, such as smart phones and wearables. However, the board to FPC connector needs to be connected by the connector installed on the FPC and the opposite side connector installed on the substrate. Therefore, the height and size of the panel to FPC connector will be higher than that of the low thin FPC connector with a monolithic structure, and it cannot be used in mobile consumer devices that constantly pursue thin and light. In this case, a thinner FPC connector is required.
● Good operability of connection can be completed by inserting without touching the flip cover
To meet this demand, Hirose Motor has developed the "FH82" series. One plug and one lock can complete the connection without touching the flip, greatly improving the operability. "No touch=no damage", so there is no need to worry about the flip falling off. In addition, one plug and lock products are delivered when the flip is closed, which overcomes the disadvantage of damage risk of rear lock products when they are transported when the flip is open. The plug and lock FPC connector can reduce the insertion force of FPC/FFC and insert smoothly by setting a large cone and a unique spring design on the opening, and also supports robot assembly.
In addition, compared with other existing FPC connectors of our company, we have improved the manufacturing method to improve the productivity by leaps and bounds. This will help to achieve a stable supply of products, so as to ensure the orderly and stable manufacturing of customers' machinery and equipment.
