Linglilte Company Launches New DC/DC Converter
2022-10-31
MILPITAS, CA – March 21, 2011 – Linear Technology Corporation introduced a 60V, 1MHz, step-down DC/DC converter LT3597, which is designed to work as a 3-channel, constant current LED driver. Each channel of the LT3597 contains a LED driver that absorbs constant current and a dedicated adaptive output buck converter. This design provides the highest efficiency for applications such as RGB displays, where each LED string requires a different output voltage. At 48V input, LT3597 can drive up to 3 LED strings (each string is composed of up to 10 100mA LEDs in series), providing more than 90% efficiency. The multi-channel capability of LT3597 makes it ideal for backlighting of large LED billboards, as well as industrial, automotive and medical displays. Similarly, its 6V to 60V input voltage range makes the device very suitable for industrial, automotive and medical applications. Each LED string can be set independently to provide LED current up to 100mA, and the current matching accuracy between LED strings is ± 2%. In addition, each channel can use True Color PWM dimming mode to adjust light independently, providing dimming ratio up to 10000:1. Operating at a programmable fixed frequency of 200kHz to 1MHz and a current mode architecture ensures stable operation over a very wide range of power and output voltages, minimizing the size of external components. In addition, the switching frequency can be synchronized to an external clock. The LT3597 is heat resistant and enhanced 5mm x 8mm QFN package, which can form a very compact solution for LED lighting applications.
The LT3597 uses three independent 400mA, 60V internal switches to provide a step-down constant current source. The internal buck converter uses an adaptive feedback loop to adjust the output voltage to slightly higher than the required LED voltage to ensure maximum efficiency. If any LED string has an open circuit or short circuit fault, LT3597 will continue to adjust other LED strings and send a signal to the FAULT pin. Other features include derating the LED current based on throttle temperature/or LED temperature and disconnecting the LED at shutdown.
The LT3597EUHG is packaged with 39 lead 5mm x 8mm QFN. Purchase in batches of 1000 pieces at a price of US $3.95 each. The industrial version LT3597IUHG has been tested and guaranteed to work within the working temperature range of - 40 ° C to 125 ° C. The wholesale price of one thousand tablets is 4.54 dollars per tablet. All versions are available from stock. For more information, please visit www.linear.com.cn/product/LT3597.
