Littelfuse/C&K Introduces the TDB Series of Ultra-Compact Half-Pitch Surface-Mount DIP Switches
2026-04-27
The new gold-plated and washable dip switch can achieve high-density PCB layout in space limited designs.

Littelfuse Corporation (NASDAQ: LFUS), a leading company providing advanced solutions for safe and efficient power transmission, announced today the launch of Littelfuse/C&K ®  The TDB series is an ultra small half pitch surface mount DIP switch series designed to support high-density PCB designs that require high space, reliability, and manufacturability. (Watch the video.)

As electronic systems continue to shrink, design engineers are facing increasing challenges: how to install configuration and addressing switches into increasingly compact layouts without affecting electrical performance or assembly yield. The TDB series addresses these challenges by significantly reducing the internal mechanism size and providing a half pitch size of 1.27 millimeters, which enables higher component density while maintaining robust electrical and mechanical reliability.

The TDB series adopts gold-plated forked contacts, which can achieve stable and low resistance signal integrity, and adopts a top tape sealing structure, supporting automatic surface mount soldering and water-based cleaning after reflow soldering. The TDB series is a complementary solution to C&K's TDA series, expanding design flexibility for applications that require ultra compact surface mount toggle switches.

The TDB series has a contact rating of up to 50 V DC, 100 mA (steady state), and a mechanical and electrical lifespan of 1000 cycles, supporting reliable configuration settings for various low-power control systems. These switches are compatible with standard SMT processes and offer tube or tape packaging to support mass production environments.
In situations where space is limited and reliability is unquestionable, the TDB series can meet the needs of design engineers, "said Jesus Santos, Global Product Manager at Littelfuse. Its ultra small package, gold-plated contacts, and washable sealing enable the design to achieve confidence even in dense and demanding applications

Target Market and Applications

The TDB series is very suitable for:

Industrial control equipment

• Power and inverter system
• Security and fire alarm system
• Building automation and smoke detection
• Consumer IoT and smart home devices
• Common Q&A on TDB dip switch

What is the difference between TDB series and traditional dip switches?
The TDB series adopts a half pitch (1.27mm) surface mount design, which can significantly reduce PCB size, while supporting automated SMT assembly and washable processes.

What are the benefits of top sealing components for production?

This seal can protect internal contacts during reflow soldering and water-based cleaning processes, thereby improving production yield and long-term reliability for large-scale production.

What electrical performance can designers expect?

The TDB switch provides a steady-state contact rating of up to 50 V DC, 100 mA, a maximum contact resistance of 100 m Ω, and a mechanical and electrical lifespan of 1000 cycles.

What configurations are available?

This series offers 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 options, allowing designers to match configuration density according to application requirements.

How does TDB integrate into C&K's dip switch product portfolio?

TDB provides a more compact half pitch alternative to the TDA series for designs with extremely limited PCB space.
