Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of a new dual Wilkinson power divider/synthesizer, WLKN-000, aimed at improving efficiency and saving space in aerospace and high-frequency connectivity applications. The Vishay Sfernice WLKN-000 has a wide operating frequency range, covering 15 GHz to 20 GHz. It adopts an integrated surface mount package and can achieve industry-leading insertion loss of less than 0.5 dB in the frequency range below 19 GHz.
The recently released device supports a wide frequency range with a return loss of 10 dB to 15 dB. This not only simplifies the system design, but also reduces the required external components, thereby saving circuit board space and lowering costs. Its compact 1817 package integrates a three port solution that supports both splitter and combiner functions, simplifying the layout. The low insertion loss of this device can minimize power consumption in the signal path, thereby improving system efficiency.
Unlike narrowband or resistance based solutions, WLKN-000 provides high output to output isolation, with less than 20 dB at center frequency, minimizing crosstalk, protecting downstream amplifiers during signal merging, and ensuring stable performance on parallel RF paths. In addition, the device provides excellent matching characteristics throughout the entire operating frequency band.

WLKN-000 can now provide samples and has achieved mass production, with a supply cycle of 20 weeks.
