The all-new nRF93M1 provides high-speed connectivity, low power consumption, cloud ready integration, and easy deployment, further expanding Nordic's product lineup before the arrival of 5G eEdCap. Nordic Semiconductor, the global leader in low-power wireless connectivity solutions, officially launched the low-power nRF93M1 Cat 1 bis module at the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC 2026).

Nordic Semiconductor on-site demonstration of nRF93M1 module with LTE Cat 1 bis connection and its supporting development kit. This product will be an important addition to Nordic's future oriented cellular IoT product matrix.

Oyvind Birkenes, Executive Vice President of Nordic Semiconductor's Long Range Products Division, said, "nRF93M1 meets our customers' core needs - a high-quality, low-power Cat 1 bis module that is smaller, easier to integrate, and designed for cloud applications from the beginning. It brings stronger performance with lower complexity, providing developers with a powerful and future oriented platform. ”

NRF93M1- The first product in Nordic's new product series

NRF93M1 introduces LTE Cat 1 bis connectivity into Nordic's long-distance product portfolio, providing fully compatible regional and global module options to help achieve widespread, reliable, and scalable IoT deployment.

With the help of the nRF54L host MCU reference design, evaluation kit, and open documentation, enterprises can significantly shorten their development cycle, achieve fast startup, easy integration, and reduce technical barriers from prototype to mass production.

The ultra-low power consumption feature ensures that battery powered equipment can operate stably on site for several years; The standardized interfaces and peripherals optimized by Nordic enable nRF93M1 to easily adapt to new and existing system designs.

Flexible design solutions for global deployment

NRF93M1 is designed for flexibility, supporting Wi Fi and cellular eCID positioning, various embedded peripherals, coexistence control, and multiple SIM solutions, including IoT eSIM (SGP.32) remote configuration and low-power soft SIM.

The product is advancing global and regional regulatory certification and operator certification to ensure compliance and accelerate customer product launch.

High energy efficiency 4G performance, supporting large-scale deployment of the Internet of Things

Kristian S æ ther, Senior Product Director for Remote Products at Nordic Semiconductors, stated that the nRF93M1 offers reliable 4G performance with lower device complexity, wider coverage, and high energy efficiency, which is a key advantage for large-scale IoT deployment. By combining Nordic's consistent ease of use with Cat 1 bis connectivity, companies can now create high-performance equipment; At the same time, as the 5G ecosystem matures, we will continue to develop further optimized eEdCap solutions. ”

Ready to use development platform out of the box

The nRF93M1 DK development kit provides a complete unboxing experience, paired with the nRF93M1 module, nRF54L host MCU reference design, and pre configured nRF Cloud service support, enabling rapid evaluation and prototype development.

Support nRF Cloud from the beginning of design

The nRF93M1 factory integrates nRF Cloud power optimized cellular and Wi Fi location services, embedded status monitoring, and firmware OTA capabilities, all of which are built into the modem.

Users can enable it on the modem through simple AT commands and extend it to Nordic host MCUs by integrating the nRF Connect SDK.

This mature and available service portfolio can simplify product development, reduce market risk, simplify on-site maintenance, and achieve efficient and scalable implementation.

nRF93M1、 Its development kit, together with nRF Cloud, forms a low-power, developer friendly platform for creating higher data density cellular IoT products.

Supply Information

The nRF93M1 module and its development kit have provided samples to core customers and are planned to be officially mass-produced and launched in mid-2026.
