Rohde & Schwarz announced the launch of the new frequency band RS ZNB3000 vector network analyzer, with frequencies up to 54 GHz
2025-11-13
The R&S ZNB3000, launched in February 2025, sets a new benchmark in the mid-range vector network analyzer market with industry-leading measurement speed, exceptional scalability, and top-tier RF performance. With the addition of high-frequency models, the R&S ZNB3000 will cover a broader range of applications. At this year's European Microwave Week (EuMW), Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) showcased the new ZNB3000 model with frequency coverage up to 54GHz, enabling engineers to quickly obtain measurement results.

The R&S ZNB3000 vector network analyzer combines accuracy and speed on a scalable platform, helping engineers and researchers accelerate the innovative process of high-performance RF applications and signal integrity testing. By extending the highest frequency to 32 GHz, 43.5 GHz, and 54 GHz, the device can cover testing of 5G, 6G, Wi Fi RF components, high-speed interconnection testing of AI data centers, as well as testing of next-generation RF components for Ka band and V-band satellite communicationsWaiting for a wider range of application areas.

Specially optimized for high-speed interconnection testing of artificial intelligence

The application of artificial intelligence in data centers requires ultra high speed and high bandwidth interconnect technology to handle massive data loads. The testing scheme for technologies such as high-speed Ethernet (IEEE 802.3ck) needs to support frequency testing up to 50 GHz to ensure optimal signal integrity. The PCIe 7.0 (Peripheral Component Interconnect) standard, which is currently under development, will support doubling the data rate to 128.0 GT/s and also requires higher frequency testing.

The R&S ZNB3000, with a frequency coverage of up to 54 GHz, is designed specifically to meet these needs and accurately characterize high-speed PCB boards, cables, and connectors in AI data center infrastructure. At the 2025 European Microwave Week exhibition, Rohde&Schwarz publicly showcased the R&S ZNB3000 in the 54 GHz new frequency band for the first time. The display system uses PCIe cables as the test piece to vividly demonstrate how to ensure the reliability of high-speed interconnection required for AI driven workloads.

Industry leading performance and flexibility

The R&S ZNB3000 series features a 150 dB ultra-high dynamic range, high output power, and ultra-low trajectory noise of less than 0.0015 dB RMS, providing top-notch RF performance. These features ensure high-precision and fast measurement even in higher frequency bands. The new model continues the iconic features of the series:

• Ultra fast measurement speed: Maximize throughput and reduce testing costs
9 kHz ultra-low starting frequency: supports precise time-domain analysis for signal integrity and high-speed testing
Flexible frequency upgrade plan: Users can start from the basic model and later expand the highest frequency by purchasing upgrade options, achieving precise investment

Expand into new RF application areas

The new high-frequency model can also support RF component testing for Ka band and V-band satellite communication applications, including high-frequency component testing for filters, mixers, amplifiers, switches, and beamformers, while meeting the RF component testing requirements for 5G, 6G, and Wi Fi applications. This makes the R&S ZNB3000 an ideal choice for next-generation technology research and development laboratories and production environments.

The new 32 GHz, 43.5 GHz, and 54 GHz models of the R&S ZNB3000 series will be officially launched by the end of 2025. Viewers can experience a live demonstration of the 54 GHz model at booth A026 at the Utrecht Jaarbeurs Convention and Exhibition Center during European Microwave Week from September 23rd to 25th, 2025.
