The RA8P1 microcontroller integrates Arm ® Cortex ®- The M85 (CM85) and Cortex-M33 (CM33) central processing unit (CPU) cores, combined with the Arm Ethos-U55 neural network processor (uNPU), provide excellent CPU and AI (artificial intelligence) performance. The RA8P1 MCU has been optimized for edge and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, including robots, security cameras, household appliances, as well as voice and visual AI.
The Renesas Electronics RA8P1 microcontroller provides CPU performance of over 7300 CoreMarks and AI performance of 256 GOPS at 500 MHz. Advanced AI capabilities enable speech AI (KWS, ASR, and NLP), visual AI (object detection, image classification, and facial recognition), and real-time analysis (vibration analysis and anomaly detection) on a single chip. In addition, there are some other features, including large capacity storage, multiple external storage interfaces, and advanced peripheral sets optimized for AI applications. The RA8P1 MCU adopts advanced 22nm ultra-low leakage (ULL) technology, which can achieve ultra-high performance at ultra-low power consumption. The RA8P1 comes in two versions: a single core MCU and a dual core MCU with an embedded Cortex-M33 core. It is packaged in 224 and 289 BGA, making it ideal for various application markets. The RA8P1 MCU utilizes advanced encryption security IP, immutable storage, tamper proof protection, and Arm TrustZone ®, Provide security for critical applications.
The Renesas Electronics EK-RA8P1 evaluation kit, which is also available for sale at Maoze, allows users to easily evaluate the RA8P1 MCU. This kit provides all the necessary features and interface options to simplify and accelerate the evaluation process.
