TDK Co., Ltd. (TSE: 6762) has expanded its product lineup and launched a new SMD varistor with the model of avrh10c101kt4r7ya8. This product can be used in automotive Ethernet Applications and has strong anti-static discharge capacity. It will be mass produced in March 2022.

Using high-precision lamination technology, the new product optimizes the manufacturing process and process design, realizes the narrow tolerance of 4.7 ± 0.57 PF in the capacitance range, and has strong resistance to ESD voltage up to 25kV. In addition, the product also provides the performance of ESD protection equipment required by open alliance 100base-t1 ESD device specification version 2.0, and meets the standard. As a SMD varistor for automobile, the product has achieved the smallest 1005 (1.0) in the industry × zero point five × zero point five μμ) Size, supports maximum circuit voltages up to 70 V and has a high operating temperature range from - 55 C to + 150 C.

As ADAS (advanced driving assistance system) and even more advanced auto drive system require high-speed and low delay remote communication between ECUs, automotive application Ethernet is used as the remote communication infrastructure.
