MediaTek releases Dimensity 8400 5G full core intelligent agent AI chip. The Dimensity 8400 inherits many advanced technologies from Dimensity's flagship chip, and is the first to empower the high-end smartphone market with innovative full core architecture design, providing excellent generative AI performance and intelligent AI experience for high-end smartphones.

The full core CPU of the Dimensity 8400 includes 8 Arm Cortex-A725 cores with a maximum clock frequency of 3.25GHz, which improves the multi-core performance of the CPU by 41% compared to the previous generation chip. With precise energy efficiency control technology, the multi-core power consumption of the Dimensity 8400 CPU has been reduced by 44% compared to the previous generation, helping to extend the battery life of terminals.
The Dimensity 8400 is equipped with Arm Mali-G720 GPU, which improves GPU peak performance by 24% compared to the previous generation chip and reduces power consumption by 42%. In addition, the Dimensity 8400 also supports advanced frame insertion technology and MediaTek star speed engine, which can bring players smoother and smoother game graphics, as well as a stable frame and low-power gaming experience.
The Dimensity 8400 integrates MediaTek's flagship AI processor NPU 880, which combines a full core CPU with powerful NPU collaborative computing to provide high-speed generative AI task processing capabilities. Supporting mainstream global big language models (LLM), small language models (SLM), and multimodal big models (LMMs), it can provide users with terminal side generative AI innovation experiences such as AI translation, rewriting, contextual intelligent reply, call summarization, multimedia content generation, etc.
