STMicroelectronics IO Link actuator circuit board brings one-stop reference design for industrial monitoring and equipment manufacturers
2024-11-25
STMicroelectronics has launched an industrial standard and device alarm actuator reference design based on IO Link, with the final delivery form being ready to use finished boards, supporting protocol stacks, and application software.
The EVLIOL4LSV1 board uses STMicroelectronics' L6364Q dual channel IO Link transceiver to handle communication tasks, and controls indicator lights through the IPS4260L intelligent low side power switch. This board can be directly connected to indicator light systems, such as intelligent warning lights used in factory automation, level alarms that indicate remaining or emergency levels, and other system warning devices. The board also provides a quick way for developers to evaluate IPS4260L and L6364Q integrated circuits, and is equipped with an IO-LINK master station connector four pin M12 interface and a five pin SWD connector for code burning.
The STM32G071CB microcontroller runs STMicroelectronics' unique IO Link demonstration protocol stack and application software, handles system control and diagnostic tasks, and communicates with transceivers and low side switches.
The L6364Q transceiver is equipped with complete protection functions and supports standard IO Link communication rates including 38.4kbit/s COM2 and 230.4kbit/s COM3. The working mode of this transceiver supports single byte or multi byte mode, and can also enter transparent mode, transferring IO Link communication control to the microcontroller through a simple UART interface. Built in protection measures ensure that EMC immunity reaches 2.5kVpk coupled surge pulse/500 Ω impedance without additional protective components.
The IPS4260L low side driver has four output terminals, which are used to drive a load connected to the power supply voltage at one end. Each output terminal is independently controlled by the digital output signal of the microcontroller. The power supply voltage range of the driver is 8V to 50V, and the current at each output terminal can be independently set within the range of 0.5A to 3.0A. Each channel integrates independent overload protection and overheating protection functions, and provides open circuit, overload, and overheating diagnostic signals for system management and improved system reliability. This reference design also uses STMicroelectronics' SMBJ30CA TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode, which can withstand coupled surge pulses under 2 Ω output impedance conditions on the power rail.
EVLIOL4LSV1 is now available for sale on the official electronic store and authorized sales offices of Yifa Semiconductor.
