Inova Semiconductor will use Samsung OEM services in ISELED products
2023-08-09
Samsung Electronics, Inova Semiconductors, and CoAsia SEMI collaborate to launch ISELED products that utilize Samsung Electronics technology and CoAsia SEMI services.

On August 7th, the two companies announced that Inova Semiconductor plans to produce its ISELED intelligent LED controller products at Samsung's foundry in South Korea, thereby expanding its existing foundry resources. The long-term mass production plan will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Inova's ISELED technology, also known as "digital LED", has been widely used by many car manufacturers in Europe, especially in Asia. Due to its simplicity of use - no need for complex classification or user calibration, and the trend towards a center/domain based architecture, ISELED is rapidly penetrating the market. The ISELED Alliance, which provides full support, is an alliance of over 50 lighting companies from around the world, including major Tier 1, equipment manufacturers, lighting designers, and more. Inova believes that by 2026, the annual production of ISELED chips will reach 1 billion.

Mr. Robert Kraus, CEO of Inova, said, "With the high acceptance of ISELED technology in Asia and the huge growth rate that far exceeds optimistic expectations, we only need to ensure that we can consistently and reliably provide services to global automotive customers. In addition, we are pleased to soon strengthen the supply chain through Samsung OEM as an additional source, CoAsia SEMI as a DSP (design solution partner) for Samsung OEM Support our efforts

Gibbon Jeong, Director of OEM Business Development and Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics, said, "The automotive semiconductor industry requires technological stability and reliability based on research and development experience. We hope that new customers in automotive businesses like Inova can lead the next generation of automotive innovation and technology development with Samsung's leading process technology

Mr. Shin Dong Soo, President of the Semiconductor Division of CoAsia, said, "Through our collaboration with Inova, we have established a closer relationship with the German automotive industry. We will actively respond to the growing demand for various automotive semiconductor applications and continue to create sustainable future value through a win-win partnership with Samsung OEM
