Diodes’ PCIe 3.0 packet switch provides more ideal data channel versatility for automotive systems
2023-07-03
Diodes Corporation (Nasdaq: DIOD) has launched a series of new PCI Express that meet automotive specifications for the new generation of in car network applications ® (PCIe ®) 3.0 Technical Packet Switch. The architecture used by these products can support flexible port configurations, and can allocate uplink, downlink, and cross domain endpoint device (CDEP) ports as needed.
PI7C9X3G606GPQ provides 6-port/6-channel operation, PI7C9X3G808GPQ provides 8-port/8-channel operation, and PI7C9X3G816GPQ provides 8-port/16-channel operation. These switch products are specifically designed for applications such as ADAS, remote information processing, information entertainment systems, and continuously evolving local area network architecture controllers.
These PCIe packet switch products provide superior signal integrity performance, supporting long cable distances and controlling losses to<30dB; They can connect up to seven different endpoint devices and support multi host applications. Each switch product has a built-in low-power frequency buffer, which can effectively simplify design, save space, and reduce the number of related components. Its typical delay is only 150ns.
By freely choosing between channels 6 and 16, engineers using these new packet switch products can enjoy the highest flexibility, using the most suitable options, and quickly developing projects. And advanced power management functions can ensure continuous energy-saving operation.
Dr. Jin Zhao, Senior Vice President of the Diodes Simulation Business Unit, pointed out that "the flexibility of these PCIe packet switch products can provide diverse advantages for in vehicle applications. These new series of PCIe packet switch products that meet automotive specifications are designed specifically to expand the range of PCIe signals in the new generation of in vehicle application interconnectivity
The PI7C9X3G606GPQ, PI7C9X3G808GPQ, and PI7C9X3G816GPQ products all comply with the AEC-Q100 Grade 3 specification, are manufactured by IATF 16949 certified facilities, and support PPAP files. The products are packaged with 144 pin FCCSP, 196 pin HFCBGA, and 324 pin HFCBGA, respectively.
