Lattice Announces Advanced System Control FPGA - MachXO5T-NX, Continuing to Strengthen Low Power FPGA Product Series
2023-04-22
Expanding the advantages of controlling FPGA to the control functions of next-generation communication, computing, and industrial applications through hard core PCIe interfaces

Lattice Semiconductor Company (NASDAQ: LSCC), a leading supplier of low-power programmable devices, recently announced the launch of an advanced system control FPGA - Lattice MachXO5T-NX ™ The series aims to help customers cope with increasingly complex system management designs. MachXO5T-NX FPGA is based on Lattice Nexus ™ The latest low-power FPGA for the platform with PCIe ® Advanced interconnection, more logical and storage resources, and stronger security. These new low-power devices combine Lattice's industry-leading low-power, small size and reliability, aiming to endow Lattice's long-term advantages in the field of control FPGA with a wider range of control function design and application in the fields of enterprise network, machine vision and the industrial internet of things.

Dan Mansur, Vice President of Marketing for Lattice Semiconductor Products, said, "With the acceleration of technological innovation and the increasing complexity of system management design, the demand for advanced processing capabilities is also increasing. Lattice MachXO5T-NX FPGAs provide customers with larger capacity, faster I/O, and enhanced security features in low-power, small-scale packaging, helping them simplify system integration while maintaining low-power, compatibility, and high performance

The main features and performance highlights of the all-new low-power Lattice MachXO5T-NX FPGA include:

• Control FPGA with PCIe

The hard core PCIe Gen 2 interface can connect to the host processor and control the FPGA.

• More logical and storage resources

Embedded storage space (7.2 Mb) is 3.4 times more than similar FPGA competitors, minimizing the need for external storage.

Dedicated user flash memory (57 Mb) is 100 times more than similar FPGA competitors, used to store mission critical data and parameters.

The soft error rate is 100 times lower than similar FPGA competitors, improving the system reliability of safety critical applications.

Reliable programmable IO

Addressing the challenge of today's CPU and SoC lacking stable 3.3 V I/O support required for communication with other devices in the system.

It has up to 291 universal I/Os, supports advanced I/O configuration, and provides additional features such as 1.25 Gbps SGMII, default pull-down, hot swapping, and programmable swing rate, simplifying circuit board design.

• Leading safety performance

On chip multiple boot, bit stream cipher (AES256) and authentication (ECC256).

At present, similar FPGA competitors do not yet support the Run time security feature.

MachXO5T-NX FPGA has now released prototypes, with the latest version of the Lattice Radiant ® The design software has also added support for this device.
