STNRG011A digital power two in one controller of STNRG011A Semiconductor is applicable to 90W to 300W power supplies, which strengthens the overload management function and ensures that the output voltage is adjusted accurately when the overcurrent protection function is activated.
STNRG011A integrates power factor correction (PFC) controller, LLC resonant half bridge controller, 800V starting circuit and voltage monitoring engine, and its target applications include power adapter, charger, TV and lamp power supply. The multi-mode PFC controller implements performance enhancements, including input voltage feedforward, distortion optimizer, and frequency limiting. The digital voltage monitoring engine has an 8-bit processor core and dedicated peripherals. The digital algorithm is stored in the internal ROM to ensure power reliability and minimize the cost of the bill of materials (BoM).
Compared with the existing STNRG011, STNRG011A adds an overload management algorithm, which can improve the switching frequency when triggering the overcurrent protection. In addition to maintaining the output voltage adjustment, this function can also prevent the power supply from being turned off accidentally.
Other product highlights include on-chip nonvolatile memory, which is used to store configuration parameters and calibration data, save external components, and customize the controller to meet the requirements of specific applications. There is also a 2-pin UART port for monitoring and communication on the chip, which can simplify testing and allow real-time monitoring and remote management. The chip has built-in PFC and half bridge protection functions. The X capacitor discharge circuit complies with IEC 62368-1 standard, which helps to minimize standby power consumption.
STNRG011A has been put into production and is packaged with SO20.
