2025-06-12
Tech Technology announced today the launch of the EA-BIM 20005 Battery Impedance Analyzer, a high-end device designed to meet modern battery testing needs, aimed at helping industries with higher requirements for battery quality and performance, and promoting industry innovation. EA-BIM 20005, with its outstanding performance and innovative technology, has set a new industry standard for quality testing of lithium-ion battery cells, helping the battery industry move towards a new era of more efficient and accurate testing.

With the rapid development of battery technology, ensuring the quality and reliability of lithium-ion battery cells is crucial. Verification engineers and quality engineers work under immense time pressure, balancing measurement accuracy, high throughput, and the need for battery impedance testing across a wide frequency range, different states of charge (SOC), and thermal conditions. Choosing the right instrument is just the first step - seamless integration into existing workflows is crucial for maintaining performance and production efficiency. EA-BIM 20005 faces these challenges and sets a new standard for battery testing efficiency.
Figure 1 The EA-BIM 20005 battery impedance analyzer provides 20 channels for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement, in addition to 20 channels for temperature sensors.
In depth insights and reproducible test results

The EA-BIM 20005-10-20 model provides wideband electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) functionality with a frequency range from 1 mHz to 10 kHz. Compared to a fixed 1 kHz system, this wide range can provide richer information, enabling comprehensive analysis of battery cell behavior under various conditions. The communication excitation of this system can reach 10A (peak to peak), suitable for testing cylindrical, soft pack, and square aluminum shell cells.

Each EIS channel in EA-BIM 20005 is equipped with a high-precision four wire PT100 temperature measurement channel. This integration allows for simultaneous tracking of impedance and cell temperature, providing a more comprehensive understanding of battery performance and health status.

EA-BIM 20005 is designed to seamlessly collaborate with cyclic testing systems. The local power level of the device can achieve a current of+/-1A to charge and discharge the battery cells. For higher current requirements, it can also be used in conjunction with high-power battery testing systems such as EA-BCTS. In addition, the system can always maintain a connected state and recognize the impact of battery tester wiring and power levels, eliminating the need to disconnect/reconnect cables for each test.

Figure 2 As shown in the figure, traditional sweep impedance measurement may take 300 seconds, while advanced multi frequency measurement techniques only take 1 second.

Easy integration of EIS measurement system
The EA-BIM 20005 is equipped with advanced multi sine excitation technology, which enables impedance measurement at multiple frequencies simultaneously. This innovation makes the system hundreds of times faster than traditional frequency scanning methods. It can also perform sweep frequency measurements, providing users with flexible testing method options. With its fast multiplexing testing capability of up to 20 channels, EA-BIM 20005 sets a new standard for battery testing throughput.

EA-BIM 20005 comes with PC software to simplify the battery impedance testing process. Users can easily configure settings, evaluate measurement results using built-in visualization and analysis tools, and record results in their preferred file format. This software supports both standard sweep frequency measurement and fast multi sine measurement, meeting various testing needs. It also allows measurement under dynamic operating conditions, such as overlapping charge and discharge currents.
EA-BIM 20005 has industry standard interfaces, including USB device ports for connecting to PCs and CAN buses for integration into battery cycling automation testing systems. These interfaces ensure easy integration into custom testing programs and existing testing workflows.
With 20 EIS measurement channels in a compact 3U form factor, the EA-BIM 20005 boasts excellent channel density, saving valuable countertop and floor space for your testing environment. In addition, its low power consumption (<60W) does not require active cooling.
conclusion
The EA-BIM 20005 battery impedance analyzer is a disruptive product for electrical verification engineers, quality assurance engineers, and system engineers. It provides fast and accurate insights into the quality of lithium-ion battery cells through high-throughput battery impedance measurement, thereby improving the efficiency and reliability of battery testing workflows. Its broadband EIS capability, integrated temperature measurement, seamless cycle testing integration, advanced multi sine excitation technology, and user-friendly software make it an indispensable tool for modern battery impedance measurement. With industry standard interfaces and compact energy-saving design, EA-BIM 20005 is expected to set a new benchmark for battery impedance measurement.
