Vishay introduces a new series of small package, high capacitance/high-voltage combination screw joint aluminum capacitors

Recently, Vishay announced the launch of a new series of screw joint aluminum electrolytic capacitors - 202 PML-ST, which allows designers to store more energy in a smaller space. From 35 mm x 60 mm to 90 mm x 220 mm, Vishay BCcomponents 202 PML-ST series capacitors have 11 small package dimensions. The capacitance/voltage (CV) value is higher than that of the previous solution. The ripple current at+85 ° C is up to 49.6 A, the ESR is as low as 2 mW, and the service life is up to 10000 hours.

The electrolytic capacitor released recently is a cylindrical aluminum shell with blue sleeve insulation. The sealing disc is equipped with a pressure relief device, with a rated voltage of 200 V to 450 V, and a high capacitance/high voltage combination of 56 000 µ F to 15 000 µ F. For example, 2200 µ F/400 V rated CV devices were previously packaged in 65 mm x 105 mm packages, but now the package dimensions are 50 mm x 105 mm. The ripple current and ESR of capacitor are superior to those of CV devices with similar dimensions and ratings in previous generation solutions. For example, the ripple current of 4700 µ F/400 V rated CV devices increases by 12%, and the ESR decreases by 16%.

As a polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor using non solid electrolyte, the device complies with RoHS standards, and is particularly suitable for various pulse power filtering, buffering and energy storage applications requiring a service life of 10 to 15 years. Typical end products include industrial motor drive, train and subway railway traction, welding machine, HVAC, UPS, wind turbine and photovoltaic inverter, medical X-ray machine.
