SanDisk releases PCIe 4.0 flagship SSD SN5100S with 7300MB/s read and optional dual M.2 specifications

SanDisk's official website recently launched a new PC SN5100S NVMe SSD. This product was first unveiled at an investor event in February this year, targeting the mainstream consumer market and using QLC NAND flash memory based on the BiCS8 architecture.
The PC SN5100S offers two specifications, M.2 2280 and M.2 2230, with capacities ranging from 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB, suitable for laptops, handheld devices, and desktops. It adopts PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and complies with NVMe 2.0d standard.

In terms of performance, the SSD has a maximum continuous read speed of 7300MB/s and a maximum continuous write speed of 6700MB/s; The maximum 4K random read performance is 1200K IOPS, and the maximum 4K random write performance is 1400K IOPS. Its durability level (TBW) can reach up to 600TBW and comes with a five-year limited warranty provided by SanDisk.
In terms of technical features, the new product supports nCache 4.0 technology, which helps achieve fast burst write performance when transferring large files or multitasking. In addition, users can choose to support the TCG Opal v2.02 standard for static data encryption, providing security for sensitive data.

At present, SanDisk has not yet announced the specific pricing and launch time of the PC SN5100S NVMe SSD, and more details need to be announced later.
