Howell Group Releases OX01J Image Sensor for Reverse Image and 360 Panorama
2024-01-15
Chinese CMOS manufacturer Haowei Group today released a new 1.3 megapixel OX01J image sensor for automotive 360 degree surround view system (SVS, for 360 degree panoramic imaging) and rear view camera (RVC, for reverse imaging).
It is reported that OX01J is a RAW image sensor with LED flicker suppression (LFM) function and a dynamic range of 140dB (HDR). If car manufacturers already have their own backend image signal processor (ISP) architecture, they can purchase only the OX01J image sensor.

The Howell OX01J is packaged in a 1/4 inch optical format, equipped with a 3-micron image sensor, and also in an a-CSP package, making it a small-sized solution. This sensor is based on the PureCel Plus architecture of the Howe Group, with highlights in low light sensitivity and high signal-to-noise ratio.
IT Home learned from the official announcement of Howell Group that OX01J is the most advanced automotive image sensor used by Howell Group for SVS and RVC, compatible with mainstream OX01E20 SoC pins. OX01J meets ASIL-B safety standards and has been sampled. It will be put into mass production in October 2024.
