In order to meet the increasing demand for modern and future mobile computing power, MediaTek broke away from traditional architecture design thinking and innovatively designed the "full core" CPU architecture of the Tianji 9300, which includes four Cortex-X4 super cores with a maximum frequency of 3.25GHz, as well as four Cortex-A720 cores with a main frequency of 2.0GHz. Its peak performance is improved by 40% compared to the previous generation and power consumption is saved by 33%. The full core architecture has fast working speed, high efficiency, and high energy efficiency characteristics, which can reduce power consumption and extend battery life in both light and heavy load application scenarios. The powerful multithreading performance of the full core architecture can make terminal multitasking smoother, such as playing games and video live broadcasts simultaneously, or playing videos while playing games.
The Tianji 9300 integrates the MediaTek seventh generation AI processor APU 790, designed for generative AI, with significantly improved performance and energy efficiency. The performance of integer and floating-point operations is twice that of the previous generation, and the power consumption is reduced by 45%. The APU 790 is equipped with a hardware level generative AI engine, which can achieve faster and safer edge AI computing. It is deeply adapted to the Transformer model for operator acceleration, with a processing speed 8 times that of the previous generation, and can generate images within 1 second. Based on the characteristics of the billion level parameter large language model, MediaTek has developed mixed precision INT4 quantization technology, combined with MediaTek's unique memory hardware compression technology NeuroPilot Compression, which can more efficiently utilize memory bandwidth, significantly reduce the occupation of terminal memory by AI large models, and support the operation of AI large language models with parameters of 1 billion, 7 billion, 13 billion, and up to 33 billion. APU 790 also supports the NeuroPilot Fusion technology for generative AI model end side "skill augmentation", which can continuously perform low rank adaptation (LoRA, Low Rank Adaptation) fusion on the end side based on the basic large model, thereby endowing the basic large model with more comprehensive capabilities.
