TDK launches compact double-sided vapor-deposited metallized polypropylene film capacitors for resonant topology applications

TDK Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange code: 6762) is pleased to announce the new B3264xH series double-sided vapor deposited metalized polypropylene (MMKP) film capacitors. The new series of components are designed to cope with pulse stresses up to 6500 V/µ s in high-frequency applications, effectively supplementing the limitations of traditional solutions. These components are highly suitable for resonant circuit applications, especially the widely used LLC topology. With their compact appearance and AEC-Q200 compliant features, they are widely used in on-board chargers (OBC) and DC-DC converters in electric vehicles (xEVs), as well as in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), industrial switch mode power supplies (SMPS), and electronic ballasts.


These capacitors have a rated DC voltage range of 630 V to 2000 V, a capacitance value range of 2.2 µ F to 470 µ F, and a rated operating temperature range of -55 ° C to+125 ° C, ensuring long-term reliable operation under harsh conditions. It adopts a special dielectric system, combined with polypropylene and double-sided vapor deposited metallized polyester (PET) film, to achieve high pulse intensity and excellent current handling capability.

The B3264xH series capacitors have many characteristics such as high insulation resistance, low loss factor, and robust self-healing. The design service life can reach 200000 hours under+85 ° C and full rated voltage conditions. The product has three different models with lead spacing (10 mm, 15 mm, and 22.5 mm) to choose from, making it convenient for users to flexibly integrate into narrow circuit layouts as needed.
